ufh

Hi all, i'm currently pricing an ufh job (my first). Its a kitchen, area to be covered is 10m2 onto concrete. I've got a price for the heating mats and 6mm insulation boards off UHeat. What i was wondering is how much to charge for laying the insulation boards then ufh then slc over the top. I know most of you guys would charge day rate but would i get all that down in one day? I dont think i'm really slow but not sure how long ufh takes. any advice would be good, cheers.

giving customer option because the actual area is 9.7m2 so would have to use one 4m mat and one 5m matt cos 10m is to big. Cable would be perfect really, does it take alot longer??

With mats its simply a matter of rolling them out but cable will need laying individual and at the right distance apart. Cable is better if you have awkward shapes to go around but if the rooms are pretty straight forward then mats work well.

there are a few shapes to go round as the new kitchen will already be in. How long do you think it would take, i'm thinking about a day and half? I think i'd lay the boards then once dry, start to lay the cable till end of day, come in day after and finish laying cable by midday ish?? Insted of putting slc down straight away start the splashback they want doing, lay slc last thing as i'm leaving then no time wasted. Is that realistic? laying cable in that time??

I would lay the boards then the UFH then level and it would take me probably less than a day. Next day i could do splashback and then the floor. Hard to say without seeing the job.
As you are saying you will be laying UFH and then tiling splashback??? is the splashback in the same room as the UFH as you dont want to be walking on bare wires !

it will take you 1 day to do that even if you slow, just need fix insulation boards with rapid so you can start fixing UFH as soon as you can, you can charge per day or to tell them price for you work

Cheers for the quick responses, my computer just went down. Do you think you'd get the ufh down in a day even with cable?

No reason why not, that and the slc, what was the substrate ?

EDIT: I should read all of the post lol, might take a bit longer as your boarding first.
