Wall or floor first?

Currently in the middle of moving my bathroom from one room to another. Have nearly finished putting marmox on walls, mainly for the additional insulation, and the fact the walls were nowhere near straight. Will be having electric UFH, and my query is, wall or floor tiled first? I'm thinking wall first as its probably easier to ruin the floor whilst tiling the wall, but I'm undecided.

Are the joints to follow up from the floor to the walls ? If so then its easier to do floor 1st but you still need to set out both walls and floor. Pencil marks are easier to adjust than tiles !!

Thanks, the floor tiles are 600 x 600, and the wall tiles are 200 x 250, the wall tiles probably will be laid brick fashion, so the joints wont need to line up with the floor joint.

Then its up to you really. I prefer floor 1st, I have never damaged a floor and tiles are easily cleaned , I do use a dust sheet or cardboard to protect it . I dont grout the floor until last though.
I prefer the wall tile over the floor tile if you understand what I mean. Each to their own though.

I prefer walls first. No need to clean excess adhesive or grout off floor tiles that has fallen when doing walls

Bit of both for me, as sir says if the pattern is going up the wall then floor first. Apart from that i sometimes like to do the wall first for the same reason as bubblecraft. Depends on which way the wind is blowing

yep, exactly the same here:thumbsup:

just to add, if you do the floor first, then the perimeter expansion gap can be hidden when you drape the wall tiles down to the floor:smilewinkgrin:
