Its introduced me to some excellent tilers from all over the country, improved my technical knowledge and saved me shed loads of money by 1. mistake prevention 2. time saving methods 3.finding the cheapest suppliers.
It also acts as a support network when things go wrong and pretty much any question on any topic tile related or not is answered very quickly
You only have to Look at the range of tilers on here and you can see it offers something to every one

God where do I start?

Not only did it put me in touch with Diamond Training where I learnt to basics to start me off on my road to becoming a tiler, But it points me in the right direction when ever I'm not sure on something rather than making it up as I go along.

It also helped me make contact with chris.tiling who I worked for on a swimming pool which won him JOTM back in june(I think). A real taste of what it's like to work on BIG jobs working as a team rather than a loan ranger.

Not to mention introducing me to loads of punk alternitive band via doug and strummerman on a fri,sat night. Oh and Daves allfull dance rubish. lol

All topped off with vertualy(man that sounds sad) meeting some smashing blokes and a couple of alright lasses that are very passionate about there craft that I never thought could be so enjoyable and exciting.

it keeps you a head in the game....

so many things change so rapidly in the tiling trade/business that it would be impossible without this forum to keep up.

theres always someone who has experienced something different and that can only benefit us and the standards of the industry........

thats one thing we all can agree on on here ....lol

because things change so much etc and you get to learn them quickly on here...i find that some people snigger when you try and tell them about new products etc or methods because they dont want to change there views or methods imo...does anyone else get this?

I find tanking is a word used more often now than I've heard before from some other tilers, some shrug it off
talking about tanking...i piced a job before xmas, never got it.The guy who got it is a painter and decorator who does tiling. The shower area was plwood walls and i advised to either remove it and replace with cement board or to tank the area....guess what.....i met him and asked him if he tanked the shower area?tHE REPLY WAS A VACANT STARE.says it all really.
