Todays subject is an update on my dad, and a newly discovered medical treatment for high blood pressure…
That is… having a stroke.

He’s been in hospital 3 weeks now, his blood pressure is within normal range, and he’s off the BP pills he’s been on for the last 20 years.

Now if we can just keep him off the ciggies, I think he’s going to be better off at home now than he’s...

How many phases? And another Lucien grumble: 'Amps Per Phase' Discussion ThreadHow many phases? And another Lucien grumble: 'Amps Per Phase' Electrical Advice

When I joined this forum a decade or so back, there was a discussion going on about a welder that was connected with a 3-core cable to L1, L2 and earth of a 3-phase supply, operating on the 400V present between L1 and L2. The advantage of choosing 400V is the reduced current requirement. My own portable stick welder has this...

Cupboard lighting push witch Electrical Advice

Cupboard lighting push witch Discussion ThreadCupboard lighting push witch Electrical Advice

Hi all. I've just bought a cupboard push switch to turn the cupboard lights on when I open the door.

It's just a single in-line switch in a plastic housing.

The switch will be switching 240v mains taken from the lighting circuit but what are you thoughts... should I wire and switch the live or the neutral wire to break/connect the circuit?

Cheers. Steve.

Hello
I have issues starting my car after having the key in the accessory position for about an hour or so. Radio off.
The first crank of the starter becomes very slow and almost doesn't crank.

I hooked a meter inline with the battery, there's 2.2 amps being used when the key is in the accessory position, is this normal?

Thanks...
