4 Way switch wiring Discussion Thread4 Way switch wiring Electrical Advice

Hello there kind gents and ladies,

I bought this switch about a month ago to replace an old one, and unfortunately this one doesn't seem to use the old wiring system and my searches have failed to find instructions for this type of wiring so if someone could please enlighten me on how to properly proceed, that would be wonderful. I assume the line wires would go to the L1, L2, L3 and L4 while the live would...

4A fuse - how common are they ? Discussion Thread4A fuse - how common are they ? Electrical Advice

Was looking at the manual for a Keston boiler and it specifies that the supply must be via a 4A fuse (P30). It strikes me as a rather odd instruction given it's not a standard BS1362 size and that's by far the most likely means of protection it would be connected to.
Presumably if you used a 5A fuse they'd say it invalidates the warranty, and it might blow a 3A fuse (no idea how...

Is there a switch which works as per a high beam? Discussion ThreadIs there a switch which works as per a high beam? Electrical Advice

Hi, I'm building a kit car which has only indicators on the stalk so need to add a switch which operates main beam lights, but ideally also works as a flash (but without having to literally switch on and back off again). Does such a switch exist? Ideally it'd be a two way rocker switch with on/off one side and 'on' on the other side which rocks back...

Hi. I'm in the process of getting my qualifications and am taking on some small jobs for family to try and get some experience in.

Today I was looking at a socket on a final ring circuit. The house was built in the 80s and the socket is almost certainly original to then.

Appliance Guarantees - whose responsibility Discussion ThreadAppliance Guarantees - whose responsibility Electrical Advice

Good morning,

another daft question in my capacity as the company pen pusher.

When we install appliances that come with guarantees that need to be "registered within 90 days" etc. Who should do that when your dealing with rentals? Do we leave them with the tenants? Give them to landlords/letting agencies, what's best practise?

I'm reading this and it seems so...

Hi, hope everyone is well.

I’m looking to buy some cutters to strip and chop 10mm cables and above, mainly domestic use.

I was thinking of either getting

1. CK cable cutter 240mm, these are the biggest version which would give me more leverage to easily cut with barely any effort.
