I'm new to tiling and about to tile my wet room floor so need a little advice.
I'll be putting down 8mm thick sheets of 50mm x 50mm travertine mosaic on to a floor that has been tanked with tilesafe using Keraquick (with latex).
What trowel would you favour for this ?

Everywhere i go seems to have only square notch trowels. I want to use a round notched 8mm trowel to lay insulation board and a 10mm one to lay tiles (managed to get the 10mm) but the 8 is proving very hard to find!
any reason?
should i just use a square notch? pros cons?
Hi,
I am about to tile a floor which will be 330mm porcelain tile on 6mm hardibacker on ply.
The installation will be over "between the joist" wet underfloor heating.
The installation instructions for hardi state use of a 6mm square notch trowel but I have read that this will generally only...
Hi there. I lent my trowels to someone who was doing some tiling for themselves, and they've let the adhesive dry all over them. There's no way it's going to come off by scraping it. Does anyone know if there's any product I can use to get it off? I was thinking of maybe trying the cement...

Hello. Quick question if possible please. Im starting a kitchen for which runs into a hallway. The floor is ok with regards to levels. My question is as its not completely flat should I use a notch trowel with the width 20mm and the depth 10mm half moon shaped or wil this be to much or a 10x10...
Good afternoon,

Tiles are 305 x 305 trav, 10mm thick.
I have these trowels from my bathroom job. the square notch is 10mm and i think the slanted notch is 12

Hi all , whats the largest format you guys do with a tiger trowel?
Starting a large stone floor on Mondy (after 36 bags of levelflex lol ) and usually use 15-20mm round notch.
Thoughts?

Am tiling kitchen floor very shortly. Has anyone got recommendations for best floor trowel types and makes?
Am laying 600mm x 600mm porcelain tiles so from what I've seen a 10-15mm notched trowel is best, and rounded is better than square, but some people talk about rounded, notched ones being...

Hi All,
I'm finally ready to tile my bathroom walls after getting all the prep done, Hardi 500 etc.
The tiles I'm using are 500mm x 200mm x 8mm thick ceramic and will be fixed using a standard set bagged tile adhesive (sorry the name escapes me but was recommended on here)
Can you please...
I'm about to tile the walls with 600/400 12mm Marble.
Not sure whether to use 6mm, 8mm or 10mm trowels & wondering what you would use.
Cement is Weber.set Plus, the walls are nice & flat (Dura WP over Hardie 12mm) but with a few lumps & bumps created by overlapping the WP etc.
Hey all, Would it be ok to use a bigger trowel when over boarding slightly uneven floor boards with hardy? Don't feel confident using SPF with a 6mm trowel, not sure if it will fill the voids

I'm soon to tile 25sq/m floor (concrete) with 600x300 porcelain tiles. What size and type of trowel should I use?
I've read all sorts. Notched this, rounded that, 10mm, 15mm, 20mm, etc.
Please advise. Many thanks!

Hi guys,
As we are all aware, tile and substrate dependant. The notches either grow or lessen..
How many do you carry in your tool collection?
I carry about 7, all hung on the side of a gorilla bucket
Just been through my van and found 6 trowels all slightly different but with the same depth to them so now decided to organize myself again!
Generally I carry 4/8/10/13 and a 20mm trowels No preference to any brand and it got me thinking as to what everyone else is carrying around.
What one do you use?i have used tile right, rubi and find them very clumsy!! My favourite bucket trowel was a venitian marble trowel I just started using for tiling work but I lost it (£30 but worth the money). I recently got the small genesis one and find it excellent and good price to at 4...
