bad tiling, help !!!

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

On that last photo is the level touching the wall top and bottom? :yikes:

The shape of the wall might not be the tilers fault but he should have seen it and pointed it out for rectification before a box of tiles was opened......

The shape of the mosaic tiling is deffo his fault and he should be shot :ninja:

Regrettably it would be a swine to put right now and probs quicker with a more satisfactory result if it was just done again :yikes::incazzato:

Hi its a 2mtr straight edge with 3mm stand off feet, at each end, as quoted british standard, way to measure gap on walls, the gap is 12mm, so take the 3mm off that, its just a good idea, and you can also work out the lows and highs, yes he knew about walls , but said it was ok , he would sort it with the bedding, tnx for you interest regards

just a thought, before closing, does this mean that if their work does not comply to british standards, and if so, that way, they will warrant their insurance null and void, so they should not be working on my property, just a thought, cause i cant go down the credit card route for help. so thinking about my house insurance legal part i am paying . long shot ????

No, Public Liability doesnt (usually) cover bad workmanship, and unfortunatley british standards are only a guide, not mandatory (though they should be).

Also, legally speaking (sadly) you dont have to have insurance if you dont want to.

yes tnx for that, if it starts to get serious, i guess you got to take a reference from somewere, otherwise it can become very subjective, spose we just got to keep it on the level ,hi hi

If they wont come and repair it then im afriad you will have to sue them to recover the cost of the materials.

Best bet would be to write to the company detailing everything you have issue with and giving them an oppertunity to rectify it. If they dont respond get a claim form from the county court or go on www.moneyclaim.gov.uk which is the online county court.

Fill out the claim form and take a copy, dont submit it just send the copy with the letter giving them 7 days to pay for replacement materials or you will submit the court claim as drafted.

If they dont then pay, then submit the court claim and let the county court sort it out.
