sorry to hear this Doug, sounds painfull mate!! just a thought is it expensive to go private- you know when its your health at stake :thumbsup:and stuff!!

Lots of tilers guilty of this ...me too. I remember my dad telling me to wear knee pads...but you know how kids are.
My knees are fine at the moment but i have been wearing knee pads for a while now...not long enough though really.
So a message to anyone starting out or even if you are established... Wear protection...umm i mean knee pads or us a kneeling pad.

Sorry to hear this Doug, take care .

Sorry to hear it Doug, what now, painkillers, physio and long walks ???
alwys done a lot of fell walking Alan, in fact going over to Middleham in N.Yorks for weekend and doing a 12 miler as part of the craic before we hit the boozer, but the doc says I should now be using two walking sticks and walking "telemark style" I've always steered clear of painkillers, believing that they mask an underlying problem, but as the doc said, the problem (osteo arthirosis) has been identified, and the painkillers are there to stop me getting pain when exercising my quads:smilewinkgrin:

sorry to hear that Doug. I reckon knees and backs will come to us all at some points..I can remember telling the older fellas to shut up when I was an apprentice everytime they told me to put my kneelers on..god knows how many times I screeded floors etc with my knees sopping wet and cold at the end of the day..what an idiot! ..I never do anything (even at home) without using kneelers now..mostly 'cos both my knees click louder than fonzie from happy days..ahh the follies of youth eh?

Sorry to hear this Doug, It makes my blood boil when I think of the dossers that will never suffer like you and I, and I would think most members, the pain and discomfort we put up with, by abusing our bodies over the years. At least we can be proud to be craftsmen, and have contributed something to society. Good on you, and good luck:thumbsup:
