Ive heard of a few weird laws today that i wanna share with all, and does any one know any more.

1. The term daylight robbery comes from when people were taxed for how many windows they had. thats the reason why when you go round the streets of london you see bricked up windows.

2. You can still shot a scotsman, if he is out after 10o'clock in wales town center, but only with a bow and arrow.

It is illegal to die in the Houses of Parliament.

In York, it is still legal to murder a Scotsman within the city's ancient walls, but only if he is carrying a bow and arrow.

It is illegal to enter the Houses of Parliament wearing a suit of armour.

It is still an offence to beat or shake any carpet rug or mat in any street in the Metropolitan Police District, although you are allowed to shake a doormat before 8am.

It is illegal not to tell the tax man anything you do not want him to know, but legal not to tell him information you do not mind him knowing

That is true although a lot of it can also be atributed to the blitz where many people bricked up windows due to a lights out policy to make it harder for German pilots to navigate.

Also many tudor houses have larger 1st floors than ground as at the time you were taxed on the footprint of your property

i had heard its a welshman in the chester city boundry but couldnt be 100% on it

all english males over the age of 14, are to carry out at least 2 hours longbow practice a week, supervised by the local clergy

it only what iwas told yesterday, it must have some truth init, but chinese whispers may have changed it in course, i love finding things like this out
