Could you not make both sizes and sell them as a set? I'd buy them.

Fundamentally we can make it in any size, or profile for that matter.

What I'm trying to achieve though is low cost solutions, so sets of things start to get a bit pricey.

Normally with profiling tools, you need one tool per size/shape. But an external mitre tool is the odd exception to that. I could make it 25mm deep and it could still be used on 10mm tiles as the excess profile would simply protrude beyond the unseen bottom edge of the tile. Does that make sense?

Yes it does. It would definately be handy and make things easier.

So what would be the preferred depth?

I figured 12mm would cover most porcelain and maybe a bit of 12mm travertine and the odd thicker tile.

I can't see anything over that size being mitred as it's going to be a bit heavy for wall fixing (which is where you generally find mitres).

OK, this is good. Leave it with me I'll get some specifications, make sure we can make this so it can be operated dry (factory have already indicated dry is no issue) and get some idea of longevity.

i do alot of mitred corners (every bathroom) so it's important, how long it would last

Great idea, would definately mitre more if I had something like this. Wonder what sort of life expectancy it'd have?
