For years ive used corded drills with a paddle for mixing up addy , went thro a few ,then bought a cheap £35 mixer and it burnt out after a couple of months, so this morning went into screwfix and got me the sparky mixer for 130 sheets, got to the job set it up ,very impressed with build and the whisk was quality as well (german engineered) , mixed up a bucket of addy and thought bloody hell " why o why " did i not get meself one of these years ago, what a difference, night and day . you ever done that ?? :mad2: :joker:

I think that's a classic WashBoy statement. Even the Fein with some users too. We've all done it, and we'll do it some more too I bet.

Just happened across your thread while looking up about washboys.

Caught my eye as I've been looking at the possibility of using a mixer for adhesive - and plaster, since I do the odd bit of plastering. Been using my trusty Metabo Drill for 2 years - its a gutsy beast, but I'm sure its not doing it good, mixing takes a lot of torque. Had seen the Sparky @ screwfix - and had been wondering if it was any good and what difference it would make compared to a paddle with my drill. So your post kind of answers that one.

Big Thanks

Paul

An old bosch sds for mixing addy, Eibenstock for mixing the plasters but it,s not a soft start

using a really cheapo drill and paddle to mix the addy with and i think its time i invested in a proper mixer, i'm getting so much vibration transfer through the handle of the drill...
