Looking at the picture's though, its not just a case of doing work that he dosen't understand. It's also a case of the guy couldn't give a toss to find out if it's right or wrong. Absolutly no care at all!

its easy to put up false testamonials, if you read them there is a common thread of poor grammer and telling us what a lovely man he is, as Dan has said each testamomial is going to cost you about a tenner plus a few pints down the pub

my builders argument would be that they dont check testamonials but the feedback will weed out the poor tradesmen and in doing so they are doing everyone a favour, in reality everyone needs to stay off these sites and let them go under but when you google for a tradesman they come up as sponsored links promising to find you three tradesmen to choose from

so the solution to this problem starts with us and our marketing, ive asked many times why people employ these idiots and the answer is always the same...............because we didnt know where to find a decent tradesman and your number was only passed to me after someone else had seen the results

This is the third bathroom in 6 months I've been called into have a look at that has been undertaken by members of these type sites (2 from MyBuilder.com, 1 from MyHammer.co.uk).

Mate, all the directories are shamelesss none of them come near being comparable to a froum like this but, at least some of the cowboys get thier comeuppance thanks to cowboy builders! I enjoy watching these guys when finaly confronted especialy those that are speechless and can do nothing other than accept that they have failed.

Its just sad that most of these things are purely money making schemes, if there was a little more genuine passion going in to these directories then maybe I would respect them a little more. Perhaps they can learn from the attitude and approach from all us guys on Tilersforums?

I know what you mean but I sometimes think the cowboy builders are sometimes a sideshow on that programme and the main plot each week is Dom getting his knickers in a twist for half an hour and then rarely letting them really have it and them some pretty bird (Melinda was better) say each week she just can't believe the generosity of local traders (what not after you blagged it for the last 6 months and promised to show a 2 second clip of the outside of the store??)

It's a bit like Jeremy Kyle, you should be looking at the jokes on stage but find yourself move annoyed with the smug idiot presenting it!
But hey that’s TV for you
