i was doing some parging in an attic, and stuffed in the eaves was an old News of the World, headline story was the Kennedy asassination, when i looked at the date on the newspaper, it was from the day I was born

i built my house on a site where i lived as a child with my family,we owned the plot so handy for me.Its on a nice quiet side road with great views,further up my road(which is a dead end) there is an old house,unoccupied.I was in it one day and there is old papers in there,old bottles etc ! you'd think someone just moved out.spooky though.lol.might get a metal detector some day and go for a strole......

1800 is that all! -Just yesteday I'am working up on Hadrians Wall and tucked in some mid 1600 stonework is a packet of Park Lane and inscribed on a stone next to it was ' Julieus was here '.:lol:

i have the daily mirrorfrom wednesday 17th aug 1977, sold for 7p headlined "ELVIS PRESLEY IS DEAD", page 3 girl is on page 5, nicki debuse, who was 19 at the time, wonder what she looks like now :lol:, wow was andy capp that old, another caption, "RYDER CUP BABE, NICK FALDO, 20, WHO NEXT MONTH BECOMES THE YOUNGEST EVER RYDER CUP TEAM MEMBER".

Another is the mirror from sep 1st 1997 when Princess di died.

i got them both from ST Micheals Hospice for a fiver, vet the elvis one is worth something

In the early 70s I worked as part of a team. Tiling Oldham swimming stadium, we made a time capsule, this was made up of a Daily Mirror, a empty *** packet ( Park Drive ), a empty Waggon Wheel wrapper ( I'm convinced they were bigger then) and the names of all six fixers. Sadly some are no longer with us. We stashed the home made time capsule behind a scum channel. Some day hopefully it may be found.
