Topps approved fitters

I have become an approved fitter by topps tiles and I have had nothing but grief with it. Is there an other doud out there with same probs if so let me know.

The customer is trying to get the fitting side of thing for nothing well thats what I think. Topps well all they have said is there the ones on desplay and that how they are basicly they dont give a sh*t I havent been paid for the fitting but topps have been paid for tiles. good ant it.....

I did some installations for a couple of different companies in the past, the bigest problem is lack of comunication. customer explainns prefreences to spotty thicko at the till, spotty thicko writes it down, 3 weeks later you recieve a garbled message from someone that can't read spotty thicko's hand writing.
Always double check everything with the customer before you start. although not having grout joints is a new one on me:mad2:

I have been paid now but it took nearly 3weeks. Happy again....

I did a floor for this old couple. When I asked what colour grout she said clear, clear I said never seen it before puzzled? yah she said they had them on show in the store. I phoned the store asked them what colour was on display they come back and said thair NOT grouted. See her point now. I did grout them with light gray and she liked it better then the clear............. :lol: :lol: :lol:

i expect this was an insurance mandate the terms are payment within 30 days but usually 2-3 weeks

Need to watch these Topps mandates.

Terms and conditions have changed :whatchutalkingabout recently.

Old prices used to include vat

New prices don't..............so if you not VAT registered..........they don't pay

You would have paid the VAT before, obviously.

The old prices fitters got paid made no mention of VAT. So you got paid X amount per job.

The new prices are virtually the same minus the VAT.

So.................

Old price. Removal of Porcelain floor tiles £140 for first 6 metres................is now £119.15.

So if your not VAT registered............you NOW get the £119.15 for doing the same work


They have just knocked off Vat from the old price sheets.

Topps tried to tell me I needed 2 part for my floor and wanted to charge me £90.00 a unit yep thats £90.00 a unit, told me i needed 3 units lol

Now i'm not a tiler but £270 for adhesive...behave....
when i say the same to the fella in Topps he said that seeing as it was me, he would do them at £50.00 per unit .
I would never go there and buy anything ever .

Went to Castle ceramics in Castleford , fella in there was great, helpful and was very good on price .
