Updating your Sat nav maps

Mind you I was in Birmingham yesterday and mine told me to go around a one way system ....THE WRONG WAY !! and the roads have been like that since I can remember !

My mate had the Ozzie voice on his complete with the language

Yes, that's how it works, Joe. You can pay a membership fee that let's you update for free, but only one system per address, which I find hugely annoying, or pay however much it is for a new map. Saying that things might have chaned since I last went on the site.

Connect to pc and you may have to pay to update maps, but you do get free updates for the o.s for your satnav.

I got quite a few voices on mine but get bored with them quickly. I hear that idiot Wagner is bringing a satnav voice out soon.....No thanks

Will do mine this week.. A roundabout and bypass not far from and has been installed about 3 yrs or so and it isn't on my sat nav maps:lol:.. just says i am driving through fields..:lol:

I just got mine recently, I think your first update is free, after that I think it's £25-£30 for an annual membership with 4 updates a year.

Mine is a TomTom 910 which I've had for years. In Florida I set it to takes us to one of the parks and it took us to waste handling plant. Three months ago wife and I were going to a hotel near Edinburgh and it took us to a waste handling plant. In both cases the plants were nowhere near where we wanted to go. Do you think TomTom is trying to tell me something?

i had the tom tom go 910 and when i plugged it in to the usb to update it and it crashed. i phoned the helpline and i ended up having to send it to tom tom to sort. i had an email off them saying it will be 195 euros for repair as the motherboard was broke :yikes: i mailed them back and told them not to bother and return it to me which they promptly did but they had repaired it for me f.o.c. it was probably too much hassle to remove the new mother board:lol:

Right, I am going to do this NOW... but if it's a satellite navigation system why can't it be updated automatically via same system ??
