Hi Mazzy and congratulations on getting sorted at the tile shop - I hope he gave you a full refund for the Sovereign adhesive:incazzato:That Gripmaster bucket stuff is only really good for small kitchen splashbacks and the like:mad2:

I've never used Tilemaster, but Phil Hobson (one of the lads on here) was using their self levelling compound recently and said it was good stuff:thumbsup:

At least you now know that you have the correct adhesive and once you get your walls all nice and flat again, you can both take a deep breath, forget about the bucket adhesive ordeal and start again, in the knowledge you won't have the same problem.

What size of notch is on Hubbys trowel? I would be using an 8mm square notch for your job:thumbsup:

Is this the adhesive you are getting:

Standard Setaflex - Tilemaster Adhesives Wall Floor tile Grout Adhesive :: tilemasteradhesive.co.uk

Also, is there any plaster skimming in your room? If so you will need to prime those walls first before tiling them. Not so necessary to prime the Aquapanl or plasterboard, but you could to be safe:thumbsup: DON'T PRIME WITH PVA:thumbsdown: I note that Tilemaster don't do a primer, so ask your tile shop what they have in stock. Mapei Primer G - Broken Link Removed - is a good one but BAL Primer will be just as good if you can't get it.

Just make sure you follow all the manufacturers recommendations and you:thumbsup:'ll be fine

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

if he wants paying for the other adhesive i will charge him the days pay my husband has lost to get the job sorted.wish i had gone to topps tiles to start with but thought we would patronise a local business.thanks to you all and i will keep you posted.

the one they have supplied us with for the floor is TA ultimate rapid set wall and floor adhesive.this better be ok as again he just sent the stuff with the tiles.(using same tiles on floor as on walls.

Just be careful how fast it sets - I've never used this stuff before so cannot advise on setting times - just ask hubby to mix a small amount at a time or you may end up throwing most of it out set in the bucket:yikes:

What are you tiling onto on the floor? Is it timber or concrete?

Make sure they don't give you rapid set for the walls:thumbsup:
