I had a conversation with a joiner recently who was saying ' yeh but we get paid too much though don't we?' meaning as self employed small time tradesmen types - WTF? With attitudes like that it's no wonder the prices are plummeting. More and more of my jobs in last 6 months I've lost out on price.

the problem is people are panicking and think if they are picking up £200 a week then it's better than nothing,wrong!!!!!:mad2: :mad2:all this is doing is putting everyones prices down and demeaning quality work so when work is through the roof again it will take time for prices to reach what they should be at,this is the reason why eveyone seems to get wage rises apart from the building game where it allways seems to stagnate at the same level and why i am earning the same as i did 8/9 years ago:incazzato:

stick in there murf,sorry to hear things ar bad at the minute for you, i have noticed a number of tilers vans in edinburgh have been re sign written as builders now so people are trying to pick up anything and sub it out,worth a shot?
