No, knocked that on the head long ago. Before the recession I was earning good money and fancied setting up a second business with a mate.

I have seen tiles all over the place butt join
I know bs standards
Those tiles look better with a minimum join
If you colour match the grout with a minimum join it looks seamless

I've seen loads butt jointed also & they do look good but I've also seen a hell of a lot with cracks through them as there is no give between the tiles as they are too close together.
I'm doing this with the closest grout match I can get.
Ask Deano on here about advice through Porcelanosa or try & find the old thread on feature tile in wetroom.
Just because they say to do it that way doesn't make it right.

Steff was the closest that was lol. Started at 9 and finished laying at 4. Still 6 tiles and grout to do looking smart though :sofahide: 10am break and a decent dinner maybe be slowing me up haha

Considering you just started doing tiling that's good going, and getting the tiles down looking smart is the main thing, speed and quality comes with experience as you can't just drop the quality for speed

Hahahha tell me about it. Its for the mrs dad he owns the property im just on day rate doing it up. Its my first kitchen floor aswell he was very brave letting me tile it :smilewinkgrin:

Blokes splitting his house into two houses and done both bathrooms and both door linings are like it, not rocket science lol. You can only advise customers unfortunately and 99% don't listen cause they know better haha.
