you won't have the headache of road tax will you Mike, with running classic cars?
hi doug
i dont get free tax now as my vans too new
it was a conscious descision to run an older van
it suits my business to run a renovated van
i went looking a few years ago for a classic and fell of my chair at the prices
a roadworthy mk1 escort van was over £10.000 and then it needed work
after a bit of musing at some of the vans i used to run, a60 vans, minors etc that i couldnt afford to buy now it occured to me that i bought them as they were disapearing off the road and were at the bottom of their value
and then sold on at profit as the values were rising
so i decided to do the same again
over the last four years ive had a bedford midi and 2 early transits all bought cheap, restored and sold on at a substantial profit
my business is renovating older properties using traditional materials and methods so a renovated van is a good advert
signing myself shows off my brush skills
people judge you by your van
so for new work a new looking van with vinyl graphics works best
this covers the majority of tilers
the last thing you want is a tatty old builders van
my latest aqcuisition is an early renault trafic , once the bodywork is like new i will sign it myself
i will be driving something that gets noticed
i will post pics when its finished
