Update - What a Bodge in the Bathroom

Hi Guys,

just thought I would let you know - it is official, I have had an inspection carried out by a Tile Association registered company and it is basically a bodge job - he agrees with a full hack off and start again.

Should have the written report with relevant extracts from the British Standards.

I will send a copy of it to the tiler, demanding payment in full if not it will be off to the small claims court. Who knows, maybe his dad will come round again :incazzato:

is ace tiler actually registered on here or did he just flick onto the forums,basically it serves him right if i ever did i bad job id expect the same hopefully this credit crunch will kill out all the chancers. funnily enough a tile shop i use who usually recommend me got in a big 50 m2 travertine job but gave it to another "SO CALLED" recommend tiler and he balls that job up big time i got a phone call from my tile shop to see whether id have a look at it and it was awful i suggested it would need ripping off it was done that poorly so i can understand the heartache this must have caused you, this woman was distraught :mad2:

Hi All,

I actually gave him the address of Tilers Forums so he could see what other tilers were saying about his work - this was on the 8th March - one month ago. Basically it is a vexatious claim - relating directly to posts on here - not to the case that I am taking against him, and included is his wife and his Daddy!!! They are trying to distract me from taking him to court and trying to scare me into giving in. Also, from the reference number I am not the first one they have done it against with this solicitor. Basically - a solicitor will do what ever his client wants them to do - he can advise them but I spoke briefly to their solicitor yesterday and he was a right smug and arrogant little bleeder to say the least and as far as he is concerned it is money in the bank - either way

I was given one day to respond to them (solicitor's letter arrived yesterday afternoon demanding response by 4pm today), although they know that I work in Germany and only usually home for weekends. A copy was also sent to my wife - purpose - to deliberately try and cause her distress while her husband is away. Little did they know that I have had a week off . This is real harassment on their behalf and to be quite honest, and if I wasn't as mature as I am I would take 5 minutes out to sort it and I am starting to get really annoyed now about this as they have made it really personal now doing dirty tricks like this.

All the items that I have posted on here have been in an open forum and they, as they had the URL and have been invited to post a defence by at least one other member of the forum - which he has not.

The bathroom is not finished at the moment I still have to remove grout from around hot pipes that the *******put in, then get the plumber back to do the final fit of the basin and the toilet. He is a family friend but unfortunately lives in St Helens and can only do weekends - should be about another 3 weeks - I then have the electrics to sort out (spots in the ceiling - fan on a pull cord and lights on a switch outside the room and fit the bathroom mirror light) and get them inspected by the council - and get a new door hung after he kn@ckered the original door. Then it will be ready for the unveiling

Now to write up my response :devil: - my wife has already done hers relating to harassment of her, I have been told to ignore it and just tell them that I will be issuing proceedings via the small claims court.

Good luck Steve, but the courts are a farce m8. The inlaws were living in a caravan for 3yrs after a builder made a mess off their house( Upper floor/roof condemed, had to take whole lot off and re-start). They won their case about 2yrs ago now and still trying to get their money back. The guys still in business,drives a brand new merc van, lives in £300 grand house but is pleading poverty. The LAW sucks. :mad2:

To be honest - this has gone beyond money now - I want my day and prove that the guy is a cowboy and a danger to his customers. If I win, I might then try and follow it up with a claim against him for professional negligence but that would have to be through the big boys courts.

I would love to be able to discover other customers of his. But then again there are many tales on here about going to a job that the customer is happy with but you can see all the poor work shouting at you!

Their solicitors requested that I removed these posts fully and ban Lawrenso! lol

Anybody who knows me on here knows that's not the way to go about asking me to do something.

As a result he's got me personally annoyed about what he's doing and I'll be helping a few solicitors near Jolliffe and Co with their online marketing. That day I know Jolliffe are getting far less calls from those searching for solicitors using google and the likes will be a cool day to crack a tinny open.

if they took the trouble to read the threads from the start they will see that we didnt immediatly take steves side against this so called tiler

in fact steve was asked to put up pics to support his claims

it was after we had seen the evidence that we supported steve

this guy has brought the tiling trade into disrepute and we are all angry with him

despite this if he had come on the forum he would have got stick but would also had explained to him where he went wrong

They are not disputing the tilers work as such....it's defamation of his name they are after...

And seen as he was not named they are barking up the wrong tree for extra cash off thier client..
