Hi Guys,

just thought I would let you know - it is official, I have had an inspection carried out by a Tile Association registered company and it is basically a bodge job - he agrees with a full hack off and start again.

see thread here http://www.tilersforums.com/tiling-forum/18723-what-bodge-up-bathroom-3.html

Should have the written report with relevant extracts from the British Standards.

I will send a copy of it to the tiler, demanding payment in full if not it will be off to the small claims court. Who knows, maybe his dad will come round again :incazzato:

Thanks again for all your advice

Cheers

Steve

Their solicitors requested that I removed these posts fully and ban Lawrenso! lol

Anybody who knows me on here knows that's not the way to go about asking me to do something.

As a result he's got me personally annoyed about what he's doing and I'll be helping a few solicitors near Jolliffe and Co with their online marketing. That day I know Jolliffe are getting far less calls from those searching for solicitors using google and the likes will be a cool day to crack a tinny open.

if they took the trouble to read the threads from the start they will see that we didnt immediatly take steves side against this so called tiler

in fact steve was asked to put up pics to support his claims

it was after we had seen the evidence that we supported steve

this guy has brought the tiling trade into disrepute and we are all angry with him

despite this if he had come on the forum he would have got stick but would also had explained to him where he went wrong

thanks for not doing as they asked dan

Hi Guys,

what the solicitor is actually going after is "harassment of his clients" - not slander/libel or deflamation of character. They say that certain posts on here have got them distressed.

Well - I am not making them go to their computer, enter the url and read the posts. They are doing that of their own free will - I am not coercing them to do it. I am not printing off every post and posting it through their letterbox (that is the basis of case they are basing this on - somebody vs B.Gas about them sending bills all the time after they left)- so they are the cause of their own distress

I bet they sit there and watch a program that is post-watershed, has a warning that it contains graphic images of violence etc. - complains about it, watches a repeat and complains about it again :mad2:

I will more than likely be inviting the local paper to attend the small claims court when we go - hopefully they will run a story.

Well, now that this thread has been moved to the Arms Forum, that is not open to the general public, one assumes that you, Dan and this forum are even further in the clear over this.

The individual would have to

1) Log onto the internet
2) Go to this forum
3) Post a number of posts as a genuine tiler
4) Apply to Dave or Dan with his correct trading name and contact details to get into the arms
5) Be successful

No 4 would be seen as a deliberate act to put himself in the firing line, and would negate any sympathy in the eyes of the law.

Then he can be 'harassed' further!

It sounds very much like that he knows he's going to get taken to the cleaners so he's clutching as straws for a counter claim in the hope that this matter will go away. It's the oldest trick in the book and will hopefully just serve to fuel the fury of the small claims court.

I know from experience that the adjudicators in these types of courts don't suffer fools gladly (from and Industrial Tribunal case).

As a further update for you guys.

Sample of tiles with BAL at the moment and they are doing me a report - for free!!

Their rep did say to my wife that we have done the tiler a favour removing the tiles as if we had left them up there he could of been looking at a manslaughter charge :yikes:

Once that arrives back I will be submitting the claim via www.moneyclaim.gov.uk

I also found out today that they are having their solicitor deal with the small claims actions at £200 per hour - costs which they can't claim back :beatdeadhorse5:

Comes to mind on their behalf - trying to defend their name!!

cheers

I know he got the stuff from a local tile shop - who dropped it off and was able to confirm with them that on the walls - or for some of it anyway he used BAL.

However, I know he did use some TOPPS stuff - I saw the bag - and does primarily uses TOPPS - I contacted Topps help line who put me through to a technical team who arranged this guy to come out - and turns out he is from BAL - I didn't realise it until my wife said "the BAL guy has been" and I said "what?" - and yep - he was BAL :hurray:.

It was funny how with all the rubbish he left - he never left any empty bags of cement?

Cheers
