Hi Guys,

just thought I would let you know - it is official, I have had an inspection carried out by a Tile Association registered company and it is basically a bodge job - he agrees with a full hack off and start again.

see thread here http://www.tilersforums.com/tiling-forum/18723-what-bodge-up-bathroom-3.html

Should have the written report with relevant extracts from the British Standards.

I will send a copy of it to the tiler, demanding payment in full if not it will be off to the small claims court. Who knows, maybe his dad will come round again :incazzato:

Thanks again for all your advice

Cheers

Steve

As I thought before this standard of workmanship, or lack of, gives the tiling profession a bad name.:19:
The surface often hides a multitude of sins, good for you you are getting them rectified and my heart goes out to you.:nopity:

Bad looking work that, but we knew that by the forst pics.Must feel good to get them off steve even now? any porcelains i put down?on i always use a flexi adhesive, mapei keraquick is my fav for floors and keraflex on the walls,no probs yet with any of it.
Good luck in court anyway!! and good on CTD for treating you good:hurray:wish there was one in Ireland :thumbsdown:lol.

those tiles are shocking steve

an accident waiting to happen

hope your telling all your neighbours to steer clear of this guy as he is no tiler , of course the other thing you could do is point him towards the training advertised on this forum

People I know yes - Once I have been justified in court then I will shout it from the rooftops, including putting his name up on here

Perhaps there should be a name and shame section to the forum??

Cheers

Hi Guys

Further update for you.

The new tilers are in and they seem to be doing a grand job. No Dot and Dabbing, all around the windows is smack on and they should be finished tomorrow :hurray:

Then it will be booking in the Plumber to do the second fix. Once all that is done I will post some further photo's up to show the completed job.

Thanks for all your help and advice over the past few months guys and gals

May I just add that I saw a previous post on the forums about the Scluter profile corners costing £20 - I have found a place that do them for the princely sum of £5.odd +VAT, and they will arrange for them to be delivered to you direct next day - PM me for details if you want them.

When I receive the total bill for the work I will then give the original tiler one more chance to settle via letter, and if no response I will be going to the small claims to try and get the money back we paid him, and the money for removing the tiles, making good the walls and the purchase of replacement tiles - oh I - nearly forgot - replacement door and fitting by a joiner.

Cheers

Steve

:thumbsup:Glad it's going well mate, I really do hope you manage to get some money back

Are the corners stainless steel or aluminum Steve? the stainless are £££ but the alu ones are much cheaper
