Van drivers - take note.

Gooner is a c o c kney living in foreign parts so he might be safe. Hope Brian never does a job in York.

Been doing some google research. Seems like Ford with their new model Transit Connect made the same boo-boo as VW with the new Caddy. The new Connect is ... wait for this ..... 25kg over weight, so therefore restricted – yup, weight of a bag of addy. The crazys in suits up in London are dictating the speed of my van based on a law that was written when the Bedford CF puffed up roads and disk brakes and ABS where alien technology. What if this cobweb covered law ,which is all very clearly explained in the highway code, was applied to 4WD drivers – do we think there would be a discussion on that one. (so my Pug van isn’t allowed to go as fast a Range Rover driven by the mummy-unit with a pack full of her screaming offspring loaded in the rear hacking down the twisties to be delivered to school – hummm.)

All crazy but true. On average more than 1 law a day has been added since labour came into power. (Apparently). Get that bloody government out for the sake of these damn crazy laws and lets have some common sense put back into Britain!

I wasb warned about this when picking up my vivaro sportive from vauxhall. had never heard of it b4 that.

I'm guessing merc sprinters are exsempt from even the NSL as i oftern see them pass me going over a ton! lol

Even though its a VW, its made by Mercedes, all the panels have the merc badge, I love it when some boy racer tries to pass me, he has more chance of platting fog, loaded up she will still do a ton easy.

I know / knew about this law re: speeds in vans, a bloke I worked with was followed by a copper, he was doing 71 mph in the van when the blue light went on. My mate jumped out all nicely nicely, asked the copper what was wrong, I'm doing you for speeding was the reply, do you know how fast you were going, 71 mph was my mates reply, your doing me for going 1 mph over ? No said the copper, 11 mph over, then explained the hows and whys 😳

Anyway, here's a link to the speed limits and how it's worked.

I was done for this in my Vivaro on the Bere Regis Bypass. This law also applies to those heavy 4WD over with a laden weight of over 2000kg, but only if used as a commercial vehicle oddly. Taking the kids on a school run you can do 70 on dual carrageways, going to work with tiles, gear etc in the back your're restricted to 60mph
