1st big porc job..

Hi everyone... well I knew it would come soon, I have my first big tile porcelain job!! gulp..
20+ metres of wall with a 1m x 350mm porc tiles, and then similar on 5m floor.
I,m not too worries about the floor.. But I,m bricking it for the walls!!
Any tips and advice welcome.

ps, I think we are hiring a big wet cutter, and I have a Sigma B2M
also,
I was thinking of using this, do you think it will be ok?

With that size tile you will have to make sure that the walls have a flat plane, vertical and horizontal with a tolerance of maybe 2-3mm maximum other wise you will be padding out with addy, not a good idea.

Use a slow set rather than rapidset as well, give yourself some time and take your time don't rush it!!!

I would say 8 mm would be fine as well as it's not to worn.

I'd be using rapid set personally for the first few rows of tiles....

8/10mm and back butter the tiles with flat edge of trowel

Nice post mate. Anyone who finds 20m2 a big job and posts for advice I think its great. Make sure you have a good cutting wheel, Sigma B2M wont do your long cuts on this tile and you may need a decent wet wheel dependent on your lay out. don't forget to prime walls and workout if substrate can take weight of tiles including adhesive. Happy tiling.

I'd also use a slow set with a 10mm notch trowel and back skim the tile.

Do you think I could manage to wet cut these on the long edge with a normal plasplugs type cutter?
If I build a little platform behind it to feed the tiles onto. I also have a marcrist Ck850 wheel on it..
Or would you say hire a bench saw.

To be honest, you are better off buying a cutter (new or used), then sell it on afterwards or just keep it

As above, a plasplug would be hard pushed for that length of tile....perhaps a good grinder with a good cutting wheel for the appropriate material.
