Room preparation[/h]I am happy to strip off old wallpaper or sand/scrape uneven surfaces prior to plastering. I will also ensure that all floors and surfaces are fully protected before commencing any work. At the end of a job I will clean away all rubbish created, which will be disposed of correctly. I also carry a vacuum cleaner and mop bucket to ensure all work areas are left in a clean state every evening.
[h=5]Reskimming[/h]Old or tired plaster can be quickly treated with a two coat skim to give a smooth wall ready for decoration. If walls are very uneven they can be levelled up using an undercoat plaster prior to skimming to ensure a smooth plumb finish.
[h=5]Tiling[/h]I tile kitchen and bathroom areas, which includes both wall and floor aspects. I am also happy to utilise mosaic tiles and apply beading and sealant where required.
[h=5]Plastering over Artex[/h]This was very popular during the 70’s and 80’s. However, many homeowners now want to either remove the Artex completely, overboard the ceiling or, have it directly skimmed over to provide a smooth surface for decorating.
[h=5][/h][h=5]Patching and plaster repairs[/h]There are a variety of solutions to any size plaster problem you may have. I am happy to repair anything from a small stress crack, up to a gaping hole in the ceiling due to a burst pipe.
[h=5]Plasterboarding[/h]There are various types of plasterboard on the market, ranging from normal usage to specialist insulating, moisture control and soundproofing boards depending on your needs. This can either be mechanically fixed to ceilings and partition walls, or applied using a dot and dab mixture on to brickwork.
[h=5]Coving[/h]Coving, dado or picture rails can add the finishing touch to any room, and can provide a stylish and sophisticated look to an otherwise plain room.
