think of all the years when he was young and you made the money for both of you.............
payback time...........:lol::lol:

Steady on! I still do most of the work and earn my fair share.
Mind you once I get onto the job that's it with walking back and forward to the van!
And the only time I make a cup of tea is when I'am on my own.

Proud ! I've always been proud that he works with me and we get on better all the time. Gone are the days he takes the hump and walks back home - from 20miles away!

Oh for the good old days!!!!!!!

Hard to beat a good working relationship between father and son,
you have it cracked John,i'm getting close:smilewinkgrin:

Nice one TJ, you've taught him well :thumbsup:.

I was well chuffed when my Dad (a builder that employed 30 guys at his peak) phoned me for some tile fixing advise recently, I guess you won't be needing to do that any time soon :smilewinkgrin:.

What a great post from you, John, :thumbsup: yes you do sound proud between the lines, and so you should, and the response from the others made me smile, too... brilliant.

Gisella - I think that's what makes this Forum special - the response that threads receive!

My Dad's 86 next week and I'am off to see him for his birthday.
He took early retirement at 59 and came to work with me. Everyone thought he was the tiler and its strange telling your Dad what to do.
I think that helped me to mellow with 'little john' over the last few years and he may be starting to realise what a good trade he has.

11 years and I can see some light at the end of the tunnel!

That's a Son to be proud of John..and I bet he was also really proud of himself that he felt confident enough to do the talking on your behalf and get the job..it's great to see them grow...

As my apprentice said to me just today..'You're not too old for a slap'
