Hi Guys,

just thought I would let you know - it is official, I have had an inspection carried out by a Tile Association registered company and it is basically a bodge job - he agrees with a full hack off and start again.

see thread here http://www.tilersforums.com/tiling-forum/18723-what-bodge-up-bathroom-3.html

Should have the written report with relevant extracts from the British Standards.

I will send a copy of it to the tiler, demanding payment in full if not it will be off to the small claims court. Who knows, maybe his dad will come round again :incazzato:

Thanks again for all your advice

Cheers

Steve

on the pictures it looks like you have removed the wood door facings and tiled over where they should be putting edging bead to finish off, the banging of the door will loosen the tiles over the door frame

was he only working part time on the job ?

When the tiles are dot and dabed you are probably right. However when they are set in a good adhesive bed, I don`t think so.

do you mean the architraves mate

you are absolutly right the tiles would loosen and likely fall off

no tiler would do such a thing even if its what the client asked for

i had a similar doorframe without archys , i used a tile trim just shy of the frame and then caulked the joint on the frame side

looked nice and neat when done, the client said to me i wondered how you would finish that bit, he was really pleased

Good , I don`t have enough room or lust to carry wood in my van,its just some thing else I must carry, don`t let me stop you from what you do , its only my opinion, maybe I´LL try it, I´m not afraid or proud to try it

I have come across 1.5 baths...1.6 baths...1.7 baths...and some super long 2mtr baths and i did one that was 2.4 mtr long and 1.8 wide...

So you cannot summise they will all be the same but i take your valid point on the looking after a customers bath point though...
