Rubber crumb and spotlights

Tiled a 18mm ply bathroom floor yesterday with fast flex (2 part with liquid). Was back grouting it this evening and noticed a rubber burning smell, which I can only put down to the spot lights in the ceiling underneath giving off heat and burning the adhesive.

Anyone ever come across this? Would a lower heat bulb sort the problem if it continues.

I'm no sparks but I'm sure they do a heat shield to stop the heat from transfering to it's surroundings, also depending the wattage of the bulb as you mentioned..

There will be the void from ceiling to floor and then the insulation from the ply, I very much doubt the smell is anything to do with the adhesive.

As above, I cant imagine that the smell is coming from the adhesive, if it is, something is very wrong.

If you had the floor up, then maybe moved a cable or moved some debris over the light then maybe that could be it. I would get a spark to check the lights.......
