Uk out of recession?

I have friends still looking at losing their homes in London........out, I think not.

i heard that the construction industry wont even start recovering till next year

There are a few new build estate near me that just stopped, the roofs were not on and they have stood like that for 12 months. Noticed some guys back there yesterday with a crane in for the trusses so that could be a good sign.

I have a mate who is a superb plasterer he hasnt hardly worked at all in 13 weeks cos he was tied to one company on price work,personally my turnover is down approx 20%
apr 08--apr09 I am hoping it wont get worse so the recession is definately not over yet and I am forever the optimist:yikes:

The American economy grew by 5.6% from October to December as just reported on Radio 4 news. That has to be a good sign.

Dom, if I said to you there's a recession looming and would you prefer to a) carry on the way you are or,
b) stop spending quite so much, in fact, maybe start saving a bit more

which would you do?
