Uk out of recession?

There are pro's and cons to both of your arguments,

stay as you are and keep spending, you are still contributing to the economy so some people benefit.

stop doing what your doing and start to save money, a recession hits, everything slows down, less people are benefiting, you then have to rely on your savings to see you through so you have to start spending them.

Either way you will suffer, not sure what your point is? Unless you are seriously wealthy then a recession hits most people, some businesses prosper, most dont.

my point is - the media puts a spin on everything, but don't give you a choice as blunt as I've pointed out. because it's on the news, most people believe what they see and hear. Most people are not rational in their behaviour and without even thinking would have started cutting down on their spending, and it's the same with business.

the economy depends on the circular flow of money. people get paid, they spend, they buy goods and services. if they get less or no money, they don't spend and they don't buy goods and services.

did companies actually realise they were spending too much money or did they think that they should just be cutting costs, because everyone else is and that's what you do in a recession?

my view point is we talked ourselves into it and now we're talking ourselves out of it.

recession is not a theory or a mindset, its a statistic based on growth and if you look at the figures for mid 2009, we were bordering on depression (again, stats/facts)

i agree that the media whips up frenzies but its our natural fear as human beings with mortgages, kids, fuel and living expenses that dictate the overal financial structure of our lives.

its easy to say spend spend spend, but if you have x amount coming in and y amount going out equals or exceeds, then its a problem....

the total blame for this recession are greedy wall street speculators that got it wrong !and the rest followed ie the banks, then the public...

we owe one of the largest debts in the world and it will take a sensible long term strategy to overcome this...as dan said years and years...

so lets not be an optimist nor a pessimist but a realist and we'll get by i'm sure ..something that the so called financial experts should have been in the begining..

that report is just meant for bankers and top management the further down the lader the more you will see the truth working man is first to feel the resesion and the last to benefit from a revival its just cannon fodder again :20:

well yesterday was very depressing day for job loses in wales,on the news people were coming out of the employers buildings crying about losing there jobs, and there futures were bleak, we have the highest rates of childhood poverty in Europe in wales witch is shocking IMHO so god only knows how these poor folks are going to cope, all because of the greedy bankers, shame on them, why have they not payed, no they have been given bonuses, it beggars belief :mad2::mad2::mad2:

The trouble with being in finishing trades, imo is we are the last to feel the squeeze, but are the last to feel the upturn:thumbsdown:
