Wouldn't say your method comes under dot dab method Ste450, not if you are adding 18 plus gauges of adhesive onto a 600x300 tile and pressing firm, would more or less end up as solid bed fix! Nobody I think is arguing with you about the rest of your workmanship, some nice pics there!

Make your point but keep it civil!
Perhaps it's not your method that causes debate but the manner of your discussion. Respect others opinions and have some input on other topics.
Although everyone agrees with my views it's pretty rare on any forum.

Again, my first post on this thread was civil! What part of it wasn't? How can I respect replies like "yawn" ...and the like to a genuine post. I suggest you look at the way other members reply.

Although its achieving nearly a solid bed, it's still a form of dot and dab and it has a stigma attached to it. A lot of people hear of it and think the worst, especially people who are not in the trade (customers) People come here to seek advice about things like this, so instead of people writing off the method, it should be made clear that as long as the coverage is sufficient and the tiling is flush and even, then the method is irrelevant :)

As long as you keep thickness within manufacturers recommendations and do not overload the wall , take off a tile now and then just to check you are still achieving total coverage which I would say you do anyway and don't need me to tell you, think we should put it to bed and re name it the ste450 method! :)

The reason for the 'yawn' was because imo your just trolling.....looking for an argument......and yes it's getting boring !!

Time's Ran Out

@Andy Allen in this media to be likened to a troll just for expressing an opinion, seems a personal and derogatory way of trying to input your own views without the need for discussion.
There are many threads that are rediscussed down the line, and earlier input is often repeated, but I just skip over it.
It's the job of the moderators to control the threads, not members, so like this post if it upsets anyone - just report it!

Come on John......read his posting history.
He has contributed nothing to this forum apart from the dot dab thread......9 pages of the same ........a thread which got so out of hand was closed by the moderators...
So he then digs up a thread from 2012 to start it all over again !!!
If that ain't trolling then I don't know what is...

Not trolling at all, a gave a valid response to a question that was on here (in both threads) and I was subjected to ridicule and hostility instead of adult responses so obviously I gave it back. If some people can't take it then they shouldn't dish it out.

The last thread got closed because I ruffled a few feathers and yes i admit, it did get a little out of hand, but it wasn't just down to myself.

I didn't even actively search this out on here this time, I think it came up on Google or was emailed as something I might be interested in by Tilers Forum. I can't remember.

Nothing wrong with what I've said on here whatsoever and the childishness speaks for itself from some members.
