job done..still no sign of money..

been there got the t-shirt, i had 15yrs doing commercial work and to be honest its one of the reason i now only do domestic.

its very difficult for a private punter not to pay you ....because i dont leave there house till they do

i lost count of the amount of days i wasted sat in posh receptions waiting for a cheque and refuseing to leave till i got one.

my pet hate is non payers, and large companys that can pay but like to hang on to it.

my advice get a large flask of tea find out where they are and sit there till you get paid.

I have a non payer at the moment. Only a smallish amout but thats not the point. I cant get them to answer their phone and have even sat outside the house but you cant waste your life away for a little amount of money. I wont give up and they may wake up to find "NON PAYER" Signs on their windows soon.

i had a painter owe me some money once ....same old, wouldn't answer the phone, so i rang his home number on my wifes phone, managed to get hold of his wife and told her i had some cash for him, for a job he had done for me, she couldn't wait to tell me where he was working so i could drop it round to him ....fools

send them a letter saying pay up within 7 days - if no payment send them a second letter saying pay up within 7 days or a winding up order will be issued against their company...that usually gets their attention....oh and don't work for them agsain.

Second thread today Ive read about non payments, and overdue accounts. I spent last Friday afternoon doing the 'stake out' someone, somewhere owes me a lot of money and now we are up to 120 days and counting. I turned up only to be told to come back next week, by the snotty receptionist. Get **** down here now, before I lose my temper I told her, I must have had that look on my face, because she did as requested. I was then told again no payment till next week...I sat down and said...Im not leaving till I get some money so stop p***ing me of and sort it out, or I'll be issueing a winding up order Monday morning. Miracles can happen and 35% of what is outstanding was transferred into my account. Yesterday I got another payment so on Tuesday I will be on stake out duty again to get the balance.

My advice as previously stated is this...get the solicitor to issue the 7 day notice, that normally springs them into action, if all else fails get the winding up order. There is no point reasoning with these idiots, we all have bills to pay, and we are not financing their club class flights end of story.

I hate people sometimes!
