Next car was a small bumper mk2 Golf 1.3CL. 1992, one owner 44k on the clock bought for £500. Sold with 76k for £900. Note, this was the last car that I ever made a profit on.

Mine was a 1968 Vauxhall Victor FD2000 in burgundy. Bought it in 1978 for £180, the insurance was £220. She took every penny I had then left me 3 years later !

My first car was a Hillman Imp. Cost me £90 which was about 3 weeks wages at the time. Petrol was about 7 bob and you got quad stamps and a tumbler.
